PRE-KINDERGARTEN AND KINDERGARTEN children wear seasonal gym uniforms each day. For concerts and special occasions, as announced by the teacher, children may dress up in “Sunday best” attire.

SUMMER UNIFORM (Optional – Winter Uniform may be worn year-round.)
The Summer Uniform may be worn from the first day of school through November 1st and from April 15th until the last day of school.
Grades 1 – 8: Boys and girls wear navy blue walking shorts, white short-sleeve polo shirt with MDP logo and plain white crew socks. Footwear is low rise white sneakers (predominantly white) or winter uniform shoes.

WINTER UNIFORM is worn from November 1st through April 15th. It is optional in late spring and early fall.
GIRLS
Grades 1 – 4: Girls wear a Blackwatch jumper with a white (long or short sleeve) peter-pan collar blouse or a white turtleneck shirt. A navy blue V-neck pullover sweater (with MDP logo) is optional.
Grades 5 – 8: Girls wear a Blackwatch kilt with a white (long or short sleeve) oxford cloth blouse or white polo shirt (with MDP logo). A navy blue V-neck pullover sweater or sweater vest (with MDP logo) is optional.
All: Girls wear navy blue knee socks or tights. Please note that for jumpers and kilts, hem length is two inches above the knees. Slightly longer hems are permissible; shorter hems are not.
BOYS

Shirts must be tucked into pants and a black or navy belt used (First grade is exempt from belts.). A blackwatch plaid tie is worn with the dress shirt. Socks are navy blue. ALL STUDENTS
Footwear: Shoes for students in grades 1 – 8 are beige Bass Bucs or brown Hush Puppies Tufts. Girls in grades 1 - 4 may choose Stride Rite navy blue Mary Janes w/ strap; all are available at Flocco’s Shoes.
Important: For formal occasions, such as Mass, processions, or special functions, students in grades 1 - 8 wear dress uniforms. Shoes are worn, not sneakers. Dress uniform for girls consists of white dress blouse with jumper or skirt w/ vest. For boys, the dress uniform is navy slacks w/ belt, white dress shirt, tie, and vest for 5th – 8th grades.

GYM UNIFORM – All Students wear the same gym uniform.
Summer (Start of school through November 1st & April 15th until the last day of school)
Students wear navy blue mesh athletic shorts with MDP logo and grey short sleeve tee shirt with MDP logo.
Winter (November 1st through April 15th)
Students wear long navy blue sweat pants and navy blue sweat shirts, both with MDP logo. The grey short sleeve tee shirt with MDP logo is worn under the sweatshirt (Sweatshirts may be removed during the day if the classroom is warm, at the teacher’s discretion.).
Footwear – All students Pre-K through Grade 8 must wear sneakers on gym day. Sneakers must be tied and secure on feet. All sneakers should fit properly so students are not stepping out of and or kicking sneakers off during Physical Education activities. This is a safety consideration.

GROOMING AND PERSONAL APPEARANCE
GIRLS: Hair is to be conservatively styled with no extremes. No make-up, nail polish, piercings (except single ear piercings) or tattoos are permitted. Earrings may be small posts or hoops (one in each ear). No other jewelry or accessories are worn, except for wristwatch and cross or miraculous medal.
BOYS: Hair is to be worn off the collar and out of the eyes. No earrings, piercings or tattoos are permitted. No other jewelry or accessories are worn, except for wristwatch and cross or miraculous medal.
Children not adhering to this published Uniform Dress Code will be given one demerit per incident.
Six demerits will result in the child serving a school detention.
